Track passed away last night. Just when we all thought she was going to make it. The accident seemed to have taken everything from her. She was virtually immobile and we didn’t know what still functioned in her brain. We assumed her pain must have been reduced by the painkillers she managed to receive. But her heart gave up. She had a heart attack and the doctors at MaxVets brought her back. Soon after, she had another attack — as if the cosmos was telling humans to stop interfering. Wasn’t it all too much for a tiny body already? We let her go. I was glad she didn’t have to die on a railway track on a cold night. At least, she was taken care of in her last moments. I didn’t spend much time processing the news of Track’s death. I remember screaming my boyfriend’s dog’s name in my sleep this morning. He had to take another sleeping pill to put all this behind and go to bed. We thank everyone who came forward with love, prayers and money for this beautiful creature about whom I want to believe lived out a full life as a happy doggo for as long as she did. We thank Dr. Kunal and the staff at MaxVets for taking such good care of Track, for being so kind to waive off more than half the fee, and help us with the burial. For everyone else, please be cautious and kind while driving. Watch out for street dogs. It’s their street too after all they are born there. #RescuingTrack #Collision #dogs #streetdogs #doglovers #streetdogsofindia #doggo Click on the link in bio and see the post from November 20 titled “Collision: Last Update”. @ratantata
