Dear Anando,

A precious little donkey was forced to haul bricks almost every day of his life until yesterday when he became a road accident victim.

Our rescue and medical team worked up until midnight cleaning and stitching the gash, giving fluid therapy, medication to stop pain and infection and loving care.

Without Animal Aid, this boy would still be in the road, collapsed, wet and hypothermic from blood loss.

Please make a $25 rescue sponsorship donation to Animal Aid today to ensure that when someone in Udaipur calls to say, “I saw a bleeding donkey,” we can always say, “We’ll be there soon.”

The traditions of Rajasthan await!
Volunteer to join the fun and let the rescued street animals of India give you an experience of a lifetime.

During the past few weeks we welcomed fantastic volunteers from Austria, French Canada, India, the U.S., and France, including two talented and sensitive 3rd year vet students.

Early this month volunteers and staff celebrated “Rakhi” at Animal Aid and are photographed here showing off their bracelets, after becoming “siblings” in the annual Rakhi Ceremony–a Hindu religious holiday in which a bond of protection is made by tying the colorful bracelets.

Not only do they save lives, but volunteers bring strength to the world community of those who share the belief that animals deserve our love and help. In the course of treating and caring for the animals, volunteers and staff provide emotional support to each other as they share in compassion, empathy and joy. These special bonds and cherished memories give our care-givers courage and comfort long after we’ve said goodbye.

“How can YOU help animals?” The theme of our humane education classes is that there is always a choice we can make between compassion and cruelty. Whether it’s how fast you drive your motorbike, confining a parrot in a cage, or taking a look out your window if you hear an animal crying out in pain. You also have a choice about what you wear, use and eat. You can make the choice not to hurt animals.

We thank Principal Anjali Gupta of Vidhya Bhawan School for her invitation to Animal Aid to be a regular part of their social responsibility curriculum.

We rescued this sweet old boy who was abandoned by his owners with a painful, oozing infection on his face. He is now healed and has been adopted by a family who ALSO has an Indian street dog who is kept OFF the chain! It’s really sad that his “owners” just left him, but we think life will be better with his new family who wants him even though he’s old.

Donate $25 today and the NEXT animal we rescue will receive medical care, treatment and love because of you. Get ready for the sweet surprise of “meeting” your rescue through a photo and rescue story.

Sincerely,

Erika, Jim and Claire
