We plan to kickstart the ABC inNainital for PFA Nainital aiming to conduct 10-20 female dog spayingoperations per day. As a precursor to the ABC, in the month ofFebruary, we hope to be able to vaccinate as many stray dogs with5-in-1 or 7-in-1, as we manage to arrange. This is to avoid any caseof diseases transmitted during the dog's stay in the shelter. Next in line is the Ranikhet Cantt ABC camp. In the past years therewas news that the dogs were being shot dead in Ranikhet Cantt by thearmy. However, after intervention by Almora based NGO Bhaumik, theCantt officials have agreed to support the ABC camp there. As of now,we understand, there are only about 150-200 stray dogs in the Canttarea.

We plan to conduct ABC operations there for 5 days and train thelocal vets on the follow-up care. This is followed by a 5 day camp in Almora. This is part of our annualcamp and we have a number of eager citizens who have alreadyapproached us that they would like their dogs operated and vaccinated. The total cost structure of this program is as follows:

1.) Payment to NGO conducting operations (towards medications, surgical instruments and supplies, post op supplies, time of vetdoctor, para vet and catcher costs) - Rs. 60,000/- (estimating aminimum of 70-100 spaying operations in each town).
2.) Travel costs - Rs. 7000/- to 12000/-
3.) Lodging and food costs - Total of approx. Rs.15,000/- (Rs. 1000/-to Rs. 1500/- per day in Nainital and Almora (Ranikhet lodging beingarranged by the Cantt)
4.) Cost of pre and post op care for dogs - Rs. 5000/- to PFA Nainitaland Rs. 10,000/- to Bhaumik Almora (Bhaumik Almora will also be caringfor the Ranikhet animals). Some of you had offered to help us support this program.
